Christine Asbury, Chief Executive, ATcare
Christine Asbury is Chief Executive of ATcare, a community interest company (CIC) established in 2008 with funding from the London Development Agency with the aim of transforming lives by ensuring high quality assistive technology products are designed and developed to meet the needs of the market and users. Christine has 28 years experience of the disability and third sector, specialising in organisational growth, start up and transformational change. Prior to joining ATcare at the start of 2009 her two most recent roles were Chief Executive of TreeHouse from 1998 to 2006, where she led the establishment and development of this high-profile national charity for autism education and launched their “Ambitious about Autism” campaign; and Chief Executive of Kingwood from 2007 to 2008, delivering supported living services for adults with complex needs, autism and learning disability in the Thames valley area. Christine has a master’s degree in Public and Social Administration. She also sits on the Board of two voluntary organisations: Leap Confronting Conflict which promotes the development of conflict resolution skills for young people; and Birth Companions which supports women who are pregnant/giving birth while in prison.
