Professor Mehdi Tavakoli, Technical Director, HealthTech and Medicines KTN

Professor Mehdi Tavakoli is responsible for Health technologies within the KTN and leads on EPSRC case awards, KTP's, Nanomedicine and has a background in materials and engineering relevant to Regenerative Medicine. Mehdi completed a BSc in Chemistry before obtaining an MSc and PhD in Polymers from University of Aston in Birmingham and has over 30 years experience in this sector specialising in the biomedical field with particular emphasis on biomedical materials. He has published over 65 papers and patents and has presented as invited and keynote speakers and chaired many technical sessions at the national and international conferences. He is also a visiting Professor for Medical Devices at the, University of Strathclyde and a visiting Professor of Medical Materials, Queen Mary,
University of London.
