Prof. Leonard Fass Ph.D, Member, Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD
Leonard received his Ph.D. in materials science at Imperial College where he is a visiting professor in the Department of Bioengineering.
With 41 years in medical technology in R&D and marketing roles, his current role develops the interaction between GE Healthcare, academia, and governmental and industrial organizations.
He has expertise in all medical imaging technologies and his innovations include the development of rare earth X Ray intensifying screens and mobile CT and MR.
Currently he is involved in nanomedicine, biosensors and image guided minimally invasive and targeted therapy applications.
He is a member of the Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD, the Executive Board of the Bioengineering Society and an external advisor to several funding programmes such as the Wellcome Trust Technology Transfer Challenge Committee, the MRC Development Pathway Funding Scheme and EU FP7.
He serves on the steering committees of the Coventry University Healthcare Design and Technology Institute, the University of the West of England Institute of Biosensing Technology, and NanoMedNet.
