Josephine white, Arrhythmia Nurse Specialist, East Kent Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

I currently work in my local primary care trust as an Arrhythmia Nurse Specialist. My career has focussed around Critical Care Nursing;  managing  a Cardiac Care Unit in East Kent Hospital NHS Foundation Trust for several years I   cared for acutely ill patients that presented with complex, long term and  life threatening cardiac conditions; I also gained experience in interventional cardiology caring for patients that required coronary angiography,  stent implantation and device implantation e.g. pacemaker and intra-cardiac defibrillators.  More recently I have chosen to focus my career on primary prevention of cardiovascular disease assisting colleagues in developing services to identify, manage and optimise treatment of  clients with Atrial fibrillation with   the aim to reduced their risk of stroke and heart failure.
