Graham Fairhall, Chief Science and Technology Officer, BNFL
Graham Fairhall joined BNFL after completing his PhD related to sodium cooled fast reactors in 1979. He has over 30 years’ experience in nuclear R&D supporting the nuclear fuel cycle within BNFL and the UK National Nuclear Laboratory since its formation. He held a number of senior technical positions in BNFL from the mid-1990s and from 2003 to 2006 led BNFL’s R&D programmes on the back end of the fuel cycle including reprocessing, waste management and decommissioning and disposal. He is currently Chief Science and Technology Officer and part of the Executive for the NNL with responsibility for the science and technical strategy across the nuclear fuel cycle. He is also Visiting Professor at Imperial College, London and the University of Manchester.
