Nigel Mills, Chairman, Autonomous Systems National Techncal Committee

Nigel is the chairman of the Autonomous Systems National Technical Committee within the Aerospace and Defence KTN. The committee’s vision is to raise the profile of Autonomous Systems with Governments, Industry and Academic bodies to enable UK wealth creation, competitiveness and deliver societal benefit. It aims to exploit UK expertise in algorithms, software, computing systems and unmanned systems specific technologies by networking, creating and agreeing a roadmap, establishing programmes of collaborative research to deliver the roadmap and creating partnerships for emerging opportunities.

He is also Technical Director Aerospace at QinetiQ with responsibility to grow the company’s capabilities in the field of aerospace technology. He has been with QinetiQ and its predecessor organisations since graduating in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and has worked in a number of fields in the aerospace domain including flight control, missile seekers, electronic warfare and mission avionics.
