Mark Saw, KTP Associate, Authentix
From a BSc in Virology and a PhD in X-Ray Crystallography, Mark worked as a KTP Associate with Authentix, an anti-counterfeiting solutions provider in the petroleum, pharmaceutical and consumer goods industries.
The aim of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership, which utilised expertise from the University of York, was to develop field tests based on novel tracers for the spirit industry and to develop a product for quantitative tests of levels of markers in fuels. The KTP resulted in new IP as well as valuable material for the University to use in Masters Degree courses and insights into business.
More recently Mark has been involved in starting up a company; proof of concept for various technologies; and identifying funding. He is currently Bioscience York Network Manager for Science City York.
